Yeah it's an interesting one. I agree with you, not for me. And as one comment here says why a new symbol anyway?

I didn’t see anything at all . Not least an N. Pillips screw head yes!

Because of your this article only I came to know about this newly designed Naturism symbol.. Actually I don't find any reason to design such a new design & to replace it with the existing one.. However everyone has a freedom of expression & should be respected..I feel that the existing symbol is more aligned with naturism philosophy than this newly designed one.. Saying that, I also accept everyone's opinion can be different one..Thanks you for writing this article..

I am soooo pleased that your writing included the explanation of the symbol / logo . . . . . .

I certainly would not have recognised it for what it's intentions were ; in fact, I still struggled to ' see the picture ' even once I had not only read your explanation, but also viewed it a number of times.

Accordingly - a definite NO from me.

100 percent Steve, when I first saw the image I thought it was something to do with Phillips head screwdrivers. My bad

It's a little cheeky, ain't it? 😉

There's some potential with that, but the colours are too intense and the lines could be softened to be more whimsical.

I personally see this as more a provocation than an attempt to bridge the gaps between people who think naturism should be purely non-sexual and those who feel that being sexual is part of being human.

I personally don't believe the divide between the groups is as big as people make it out to be and should limit discussion to whether one is wrong and one is right, which will result in a no-win scenario.

I personally believe that everyone is looking for acceptance in their heart and that rejecting provocation in favour of open and empathetic dialogue will help us all grow as human beings.

M.M. the understanding that naturism should be purely non-sexual and the fact that being sexual is part of being human are not mutually exclusive. Both are true!

Naturism as a philosophy has as much to do with sex as riding a motorbike, weeding the garden or playing golf! It's just the practice of wearing no clothes - that's all. But it doesn't remove the fact that we are sexual beings and engage in sex at appropriate times - whether or not we wear clothes!

Indeed! They're a nice Venn diagram. :)

You make some good points.

I doubt if I would have seen it that way.

As a naturist symbol... it's AWFUL! 🤮

It’s fun, creative, and original - but yeah, I prefer the already established one that’s less “in your face.”

I'm probably unique in this, but without the priming I'd never have figured out that symbol was supposed to be a person at all, never mind anything else. Then again, I don't see anything in Rorschach pics.

That symbol is absolutely stupid looking! My favorite view of a person isn't from the rear with them bending over anyway. What a ridiculous symbol.

I completely agree with your assessment. As a non social naturist, it is imperative that we ensure the public does not automatically associate nakedness with sex. Anything that could give that association is counter to our goals of "Re"normalizing nudity.

Sexual plain and simple. Besides we already have a symbol . Don’t need to come up with one every 5 years !

I agree, it's a humorous design, but definitely on the the more sexual side of humour. I like the things it stands for, but its not for me.. a step too far.

I'm not sure about this concluding statement, Steve . . .

"Perhaps it could be used by those wanting a more sexualised element to their naturism and help create a distinction between sexual and non-sexual naturism."

Naturism, by definition, is non-sexual. There is no such thing as sexual naturism. Perhaps you mean those wanting a more sexualised element to their nudity?

Anyhooo . . . you're right - a stylised bum staring you in the face is certainly not representative of naturism.

You make a fair point.
