Driving naked is one of my favourite things to do! I'll park at the back of the park I go to for the joy of driving up to the front naked and then hop out and put clothes on just prior to leaving.

Where I live, it's legal for women to be topless. The challenge is all the other factors that come with it, including leers and gossip. Driving topless a ways away from home might be a nice way to enjoy when the weather is right and you can roll the windows down. Hmmm.

Glad to see you and Emma enjoying your car travels naked. Gary and I have been driving naked for quite a while. Since we are usually naked at home, it’s easy to get “into uniform” for our drives. We have a cottage that we drive to during the summer north of where we live. Here we enjoy clothes free living all summer long, our own nudist getaway spot. It has a beautiful lake and nearby secluded forests and meadows where Gary and I enjoy hiking naked.

When we are heading to the cottage, we pack the car in the garage. Then we wrap towels around us that we wear in the city area. Once we are in the country, we easily strip off and enjoy the warm sun and summer breeze caressing our naked bodies. Lovely!!

To me, the juice just isnt worth the squeeze. It just doesn’t click with me particularly. Plus, I can’t help but think -- what if I got in an accident? I’m not worried about being seen at that point. But legal and insurance, medical or auto, aspects would concern me -- “you were naked, what were you up to, you weren’t focused on the road, etc...”. While all that may be false, it’s still not a fight I’d want to have.

Great story! And yes, I car-nude 100% of the time when I'm in the car by myself... in Colorado, New Mexico, Mexico, Germany and other places. Only time I cover up is when I'm stuck at a red light and can't stagger vs other cars. And yes, we'll need to invent more comfortable seat belts ;).

My favorite line!

“It is such a pity that wearing nothing is not considered a valid clothing choice by most of society.” What a fun adventure.

You should always be grateful to live in a country where the outdoor & communal nudity is not legally banned. Driving naked must be an experience which every naturist seeks for. I am not that lucky to drive naked as nudity is legally banned here..

Most reports of vehicular nudity in the US are from truckers and bus riders. A thousand people might pass you, a dozen might notice and one might report you. And then you'll be harassed. Legality varies from state to state.

A high clearance vehicle and window tint might help you. I keep my carnuding restricted to remote roads and 4WD trails.

Do you find sarongs easy to tie and wear?

This seems to reflect just how difficult it can be to truly get into a mindset of comfort.

I’d be inclined to ditch the cafes and townships and simply opt for quiet spots along the way where a thermos and picnic would serve the same purpose.

I have done varying distances in the nude. A towel is all that’s needed to calm the overactive imagination. 99% of the time you’ll go completely unobserved.

It’s only ever your own heightened sense of alertness that makes you think anyone is paying any more attention than they normally would.

Enjoyed your driving naked article, and often drive naked as well. Have followed you for some time. Recently, my wife and I carnuded through many interesting areas where I wished I could contact naturist-friendly people who might provide guidance about local naturist opportunities. That gave me the idea to start the web-group Naked VIP’s (Visitor Information Providers) where naturists could find, connect, and do just that. The group could definitely use a contact in New Zealand. Would you help me by looking at this FREE site and perhaps joining. Ken Carlisle (Ken Sunwalker) https://mewe.com/join/nakedvips

I often drive nude from where I live, Louisville, Kentucky, USA, to my hometown of Princeton, Kentucky, USA. It's a 2.5 hour trip, usually nonstop, so I'm able to be naked the entire way. And it is an interstate highway the entire way so there is no fear of being seen. I always enjoy it.

I was in Germany recently - I am there quite often, I live in the UK - and investigated online the legality of public nakedness in that country. Apparently it is quite ok to be naked in your own home, even if you are visible through the windows, unless the windows look out onto a main street. No real surprise there. But then I learned that it is quite legal to drive naked. Strange, but nice to know.

I would claim I'm a disciple in the Church of Naturism. Just practicing my religion. Anyone interested?

I've been driving nude for a long time now. Although it seems like a challenging and daring deal for us, the practicioners, no one outside the car really seems to care. lol! Motor on!

"Many people who ardently claim to fight for equality will have a wildly different reaction between a topless male and a topless female. It’s not fair and it’s discriminatory, but it is an illogical reality of the modern world."

Ahh, but one torso is considered a secondary sex feature, and the other much less so. At least in the past, and still today amongst older folks. But for the younger generation 18-30 the binary view of sex is replaced by the graduated scale and diversity of "gender". Lots of younger folks identify as bi, and many are open to same-gender encounters, so maybe those male pecs and torso will become more mainstream attractive and emerge from the shadow nods in life and media. There's hope for you yet.
