The online naturist group that I subscribe to puts out a monthly email newsletter. As we enjoy the warmer summer months, the newsletter promotes events and gatherings for local people to attend.
A wonderful idea of naked fishing. Though I am not inclined for fishing, what you have said in the article is very correct. We naturists must engage ourselves into activities that are not about nudity, however the activities should be performed naked to improve the naturism acceptance in the society.
Thanks for the report, Steve. I had wondered how that event had gone. I was tempted to attend, but I'm a boat fisherman and my short boat rods hopeless for surfcasting! I'm intending to buy a release mechanism for my drone to carry a line out offshore, so maybe next time!
Yes, it may have been me that you heard talk about shifting the focus of events from nudity to the activity. It's something I've been advocating for some time now. The BoP fishing event is a good initial move in that direction. The next stage now is to move away from Entrance 34 at Waihi Beach (the traditional nudist area) and hold the competition where the clothed people go. Also have the event advertised in the local Waihi Beach Community notice boards as a clothing-optional event. Yes, you will get the odd prudish nay-sayer, but you will find the vast majority of local folks will be supportive. The World Naked Bike Ride at Waihi Beach is well received by the community there.
I’ve never been attracted by the idea of fishing, but I am attracted by the idea of sitting on a riverbank, watching the water drift by, enjoying the peace and quiet, and if the presence of a fishing rod meant I would go largely undisturbed so much the better! Of course carrying out the whole exercise naked would be the icing on the bait.
My husband was a lifelong fisherman. I read the reason women make the best fishers and hold world records for the biggest catch. Especially Salmon and Trout is because of the oils and perfumes in a females skin. So you were correct in wearing gloves

Thanks. It probably was you that I heard the shifting focus idea from.

The peace and quiet, or forced relaxation, is a draw card for me, although had the event been a clothed one, I am not sure I would have joined in.
